What's new this week!
The week of October 9th 2009-

-Tom has decided to take part in the 2009 edition of NaNoWriMo, which of course
is the National Novel Writing Month challenge! Castle Lake was the result of
Tom's first try at the challenge, and Castle Lake is Tom's #1 book so far. The
challenge starts on Nov 1st, and Tom's book will be called "The Anatomy of a
Mermaid." It's a romantic story of a love triangle of a completely different kind.
Tom got the seed of the idea last December, but the plot just came to him on
October 7th. He is going to do some research, but the writing won't begin until
Nov 1st. Tom expects the novel, his 6th, to be published in February of 2010.
Here is the website for the challenge,
NaNoWriMo.

-Tom will be involved in the second 'Oxford Creates' cultural exhibition and sale to
be held on Nov 13th to the 15th at Craigowen (The Oxford Golf and Country
Club) located just north of Woodstock in Huntingford on Highway 59. Tom was
very pleased with how things went in 2008, and hopes for even greater things
this year. He will be there will all 5 books.

-Tom will also be involved in the very first 'Author's Book Fair' to be held in
Port Dover on Nov 28th and the 29th, at the Lighthouse Festival Theatre. Tom
will be doing a reading, probably a chapter from 'The Anatomy of a Mermaid.'

-Return to Castle Lake got plugged in "In Other Words," in the London
Free Press. This is the third time Tom has been mentioned in the column. It was
also mentioned that Castle Lake was for sale at the Oxford Book Shop in
London, so Tom gave them a heads up. Return to Castle Lake is now at the
  Merrifield Book shop.

-Tom was featured in a story by Geoff Dale in this week's Oxford Review. Tom's
second appearence in Geoff's column deals with the second Castle Lake book,
  "
Return to Castle Lake - A Strange Engagement," due out towards the end of
December. Tom hopes the week of Dec 15th, but it depends on the shipper and
what the Christmas mail rush is like.

-Castle Lake is now available for sale at the Oxford Book Shop in London. This
is Tom's first London retailer, and he is very pleased. Their number is 519-
438-8336, and they are at 740 Richmond Street, at Oxford.

-The First Review of the American version of Castle Lake is up. The review is
by Harriet Klausner, the #1 Book Reviewer at Amazon.com. Harriet posted
the same review on her three sites,
Alternative Worlds, Worlds of Wonder,
   and the
Review Archive. This is Tom's first ever published book review.

-Thomas spoke to the Grade 7 and 8 class of Sandra Hurley on April 3rd at the
Trinity Private School in Innerkip. It was Tom's first talk to a group of
students this young, and he felt the talk was a success. Read about it
