| 1) Jan 25th 2007-A good book, I didn't want to put it down. Julia W.-Woodstock, ON 2) Jan 28th 2007-The surprises kept on coming. Just when you think you know what's going to happen, everything changes. A great ending! Charmaine B.-Woodstock, ON 3) Mar 23rd 2007-Although I am not an avid reader, I still found Castle Lake to be a spellbinder that captured me from the first page. It was exciting, enjoyable and held my interest to the end. I didn't want to put it down. Beautifully written and easy to read. Alma M.-North Hills, California 4) Mar 30th 2007-Castle Lake is a really good change from all of those dry books I seem to be reading lately. I love Castle Lake's main character of Alicia Murdock because of her independent attitiude. The plot is spectacular and has the reader hanging on every word, right to the action packed ending. My favorite part was when the Colonel went into Alicia's bedroom and her reaction to him. I have recommneded the book to all of my friends. I would also recommend it to anyone who loves a good read. Jessica R.-Hamilton, ON, Canada 5) April 15th 2007-A great book that was hard to put down. Six stars! I recommend this book from teen and up. Anne Dixon, London, ON 6) April 16th 2007-I really enjoyed this book and I couldn't put it down. It is a very good read. I recommend this book to any adult or teen, it will keep you wanting to read more and more. Plus I think it would make a great made for TV movie or even on the big screen- Daniel Thomas, London, ON 7) April 22nd 2007-This is a book that you cannot put down! The author's style of writing is so personal and detail rich that you feel as if he's in the room telling a story thats been handed down through the generations. The characters are so real that it seems hard to beleive they don't actually exist. The book made me think about those people who claim to channel spirits. These characters urgently use the author to tell thier story. I can hardly wait for the next book to be published. It would make a great movie. The author's style is very much like John Steinbeck with vivid character's like Zane Grey.-Valerie C., Southern California, USA 8) April 29th 2007-The book is written so well, it's like you are in the 1800's. It was one of the best books I have read. I thought it was just wonderful, I enjoyed the story and it kept me in the book, like I was there. I bought my girlfriend the book too. I think it would be a great book for High School English to study. I wish Tom Ryerson the best. Thank you Tom...hurry, I want to read your next book. - Marsha Hill, Delhi, ON 9) May 7 2007- Give me a book containing a mystery and I will read it. Some books I don't finish, however. Castle Lake was definately not one of those! It is not often that one finds a book that will interest a teen AND your great aunt Emma, but Castle Lake will do just that. At times I had to remind myself that the story was set in the late 1800's as the emotions and lives of the characters could be a part of today's rural generation. I look forward to the writer's next book. If he keeps up the good work, he will soon be on the Best Sellers lists. Buy this book. Read it. You won't be disappointed. Phyllis Evans, FL 10) May 16th 2007-I just finished reading Tom Ryerson's first book. It was quite entertaining. I wish him great success with his writing. I feel that Tom's first book would be enjoyed most by teenaged girls. - Ann Specht, Toronto, ON 11) May 18 2007- Love the book and can't wait for the next one. - Nikki Ryerson, Hamilton, ON 12) May 28th 2007- Pretty damn good piece of writing! - Kenneth F. MacKay, St. Catharines, ON. |

| Travelogue (July 13th 2007) | ||||||||||||||||
| 1) June 18th 2006-A good book. I liked how (the author) tied it all together at the end. Belinda S.- London, ON. 2) July 1st 2007- I am highly impressed with the attention to detail and the effort an endeavour like this takes. Congratulations! A wonderful candid introspective novel with moments of laughter, surprise and eroticism. Albertine Antonelli - Colchester, ON. 3) July 27th 2007-Travelogue is one of the better books I've read. The author brings the characters to life without over-doing it. There are some time jumps spanning a number of years, which I followed with no difficulty. There are so many sub-plots in this novel that I know I will pick it up again over the years and still find new things. The sex scenes were very well written without going over the top. Perhaps a cold shower after reading a few of them will be in order. There is a fair amount of course language, violence and sex through-out the book and I suggest it for readers over the age of 17, and also those who like to cheer for the under-dogs. I very much look forward to reading the author's next novel, Fun City. Michael J. Winegarden- Sudbury, ON. 4) August 18th 2007- Travelogue is definitely the best book I have read in in a while. It has everything; romance and relationships to murder and deceit. I just couldn't put it down. As soon as I thought I had it figured out...BAM! Another surprise hit me and I couldn't stop reading again. Travelogue is awesome! Jessica R.- Hamilton, ON. |
